A suspicious blaze at an abandoned Breakwater house is the latest in a string of vacant properties going up in flames across the region.
Fire crews were called to Cosgrove St about 7.30pm on Sunday.
Police said the abandoned brick home was significantly damaged and a crime scene has been established.
Detectives from the Geelong Crime Investigation Unit are probing what caused the blaze.
On Monday morning, forensic officers were seen at the scene.
The front part of the house’s roof had collapsed while the inside had been completely guttered by fire.
A smoke warning was issued by authorities for the area.
It comes after a vacant home in Mount Duneed was destroyed by fire in the early hours on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Whites Rd about 4.15am.
A vacant home in Charlemont was also destroyed on September 8.
