Man stabbed, another man arrested in Bell Post Hill

A man has been charged after an alleged stabbing in a quiet street in Bell Post Hill on Tuesday afternoon.

A man has been charged and will front a Geelong court on Wednesday after an alleged stabbing in a quiet, residential street in Bell Post Hill.

Emergency services were called to Darriwill St just before 11.30am on Tuesday.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Darcie Sword said a 33-year-old Norlane man was allegedly stabbed and taken to Geelong hospital with serious injuries.

Builders at a construction site nearby reported seeing a man with blood on his shirt.

A towel was seen laying on a patch of grass out the front of the property, with spots of blood on it.

A video has also emerged appearing to show a man hunched over wiping blood from his face.

Police said a 24-year-old Bell Post Hill man was arrested nearby and charged with recklessly causing serious injury and recklessly causing injury.

He has been remanded in custody and will front the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman confirmed a man was rushed to hospital “with an upper body injury.”

Police had taped off the house shortly after the alleged incident and detectives were at the scene collecting evidence.

One resident said Darriwill St was generally a quiet street.

The resident said they found the incident “scary”.

Another local resident said they woke up to a lot of commotion this morning with emergency services arriving on the scene. They said they understood two men in their late 20s resided at the house. They said they felt safe living in the area despite the incident.
