Corio man, 25, dead after ute and truck crash in Parwan

A 25-year-old Corio man has died in a head-on collision between a ute and truck on Ballan Rd, forcing major road closures.

A 25-year-old man has died in a horror crash in Parwan.

A 25-year-old Corio man has died following a head on crash involving a ute and truck north of Geelong.

Emergency services were called to a scene on Ballan Rd near Agars Rd in Parwan about 6.25am on Friday after reports two vehicles had collided.

Police understand a ute travelling west collided with a truck driving the opposite direction.

The driver of the ute, who police confirmed on Friday afternoon was a 25-year-old Corio man, died at the scene.

The truck driver was uninjured.

A Victoria Police spokesman said drivers were being urged to “avoid the area due to full road closures on Ballan Road, near Bacchus Marsh – Geelong Road”.

“An investigation into the collision is ongoing,” he said.

As of 8.35am Ballan Rd remained closed in both directions with VicTraffic echoing Victoria Police’s recommendation to avoid the area.
