A Barwon Heads teen has taken the TikTok world by surprise, after amassing almost five million followers in less than a year.

Fifteen-year-old Tommy Cockram, who goes by @tsezy on the social media platform, uploads two short videos a day that are focused on recounting or uncovering spooky phenomena and past events.

Mother Jackie Erb said her son’s social following “took off out of nowhere”.

“It all started with him doing tricks and flips on the trampoline for fun when he was younger,” she said.

“Him and his friends used to film each other and upload it online but then nothing really came of it.

“Then his followers increased suddenly when he started focusing on videos surrounding mysteries and horror.”

Tommy agreed that his favourite videos to create were those debunking dark and mysterious past events.

“My followers seem to love them,” he said.

“I especially love directing my introductions at interesting places where I use my signature finger pointing to the sky to highlight the text in my videos.

“I’m aiming to have 10 million followers by the end of next year.”

Ms Erb, said Tommy “doesn’t like to take himself too seriously”.

“It’s great for him to have a creative outlet,” she said.

“Covid lockdowns were really hard for the teenagers, but luckily he had something to keep him busy.”

Tommy, who is one of six children, continues to focus on his studies and work as well as his Tik Tok fame.

“I always tell him, just because you’re doing well at Tik Tok doesn’t mean you can just quit your job at McDonalds, because you never know what could happen,” Ms Erb said.

“At the moment, it’s a bit of fun for him.”
