K rock 95.5 drive duo Tim & Jess celebrate 2000 shows together

A long-time Geelong radio duo will rack up a major milestone on Thursday.

K rock’s drivetime duo Tim and Jess will celebrate this 2000th show together on Thursday.

The presenters first paired up in 2016, when Tim was picked out to be Jess’s co-host at Mount Gambier’s 96.1 StarFM.

They then moved to do a breakfast show in Central Queensland before also working in Albury Wodonga.

K rock in Geelong has hosted the duo’s last 500-odd shows.

“We started keeping track of show numbers just for fun,” Jess said.

“I don’t think either of us anticipated it would get to nine years later and we’d still be counting together, but we’ve had a lot of great shows.”

A 27-hour radio marathon that raised more than $16k for charity remains one of their standout career moments.

K Rock confirmed this show was only counted as one, despite its length.

“We are incredibly aware of how lucky we are that we’ve been able to do this together for so long and we are so proud of this achievement,” Tim said.

“It’s even more lucky we still love coming to work and hanging out together every afternoon after all these years.”

Geelong Broadcasters acting group content director Tom Lewis praised the pair.

“Tim and Jess have amazing chemistry that translates on air and off,” Mr Lewis said.

“It’s the kind of thing you only see in teams with staying power and a commitment to executing high-quality, creative content.

“They did not pay me to say this.”

The duo shows no signs of slowing down and is not ruling out the possibility of another 2000.
