Firefighters were called to a Newtown home overnight, when an out-of-control shed fire threatened neighbouring properties.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to the Marshall Street address shortly after midnight and arrived within five minutes to find a shed on fire with flames threatening a nearby home.
Firefighters worked quickly and were able to contain the blaze to the shed.
The blaze came a day after a family’s West Fyans St home, also in Newtown, was destroyed by fire.
That fire broke out on the back porch of Kara and Vince Ficarra’s home about 2.30am on Monday.
The couple’s nine-year-old daughter and niece, who was staying for Easter, woke to find flame on the back porch.
While firefighters extinguished the blaze within 10 minutes of arrival, the Ficarras were shocked to return later to find the fire had reignited.
Despite losing everything, Ms Ficarra said it was precious photos of her children that she would miss the most.
“Everything else we can get back with insurance,” she said.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of both fires.
