A Torquay Covid testing site has become the latest target of anti-vaxxer vandalism in the region.

Lockdown protests turn chaotic in Melbourne and Brisbane

A TORQUAY Covid testing site has become the latest target of anti-vaxxer vandalism.

Police are investigating criminal damage to a $20,000 marquee being used at a Torquay Football Club Covid-19 testing site on the night of September 24.

“An unknown person or persons have used a knife to slash the canopies,” a police spokesperson said. “Graffiti in the form of anti-vaccination slogans were also spread throughout the testing site.”

The Geelong-based owner of the marquee had been left “completely devastated” and “required to pay $20,000 for a replacement” police noted.

The Torquay damage comes days after a swastika was painted on the Surf Coast Highway as it enters Torquay along with the message “Sak DA NWO” – which likely translated to “sack Daniel Andrews new world order”.

Another barely-legible message was painted on the road just days after the original message was removed.

Geelong Covid-19 testing sites were also targeted by vandals last week, with the Australian Clinical Labs Covid testing site at South Barwon Reserve in Belmont understood to have been vandalised with graffiti including swastikas and “f*** you Dan”. It is understood the site had also been targeted by vandals on previous occasions.

Kardinia Health’s testing site in Belmont has also targeted by vandals, with graffiti including “your body your choice” and “Covid stats are fake”.

Police are urging anyone with information about the vandalism to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Torquay Police Station on 5264 3400.
