The Freshwater Festival is back bigger and better this year, featuring 15 stalls and special music performances from students.
The 11th edition of the community fair will be held on Friday in partnership with Freshwater Christian College and the Freshwater branch of the Queensland Country Women’s Association (CWA).
The fair will feature stalls including a licensed bar and a CWA stall running raffles with thousands worth in prizes.
Food options from Richards Salt & Pepper Takeaway and Thai, Japanese and African cuisines, as well as two dessert trucks, will be on offer.
A dedicated children’s area will feature face painting, jumping castles, mini golf and a petting zoo.
Entry is free, and money raised from stalls and the children’s area will go towards the branch of the CWA for renovations to its clubhouse, including the addition of disability showers and toilets.
“It’s a free event, we want (people) to spend their money here,” organiser Kane Brown said.
“We want the money to go to the CWA and the (food) vendors that work to support their staff, so it’s about bringing the money back into the community.”
Students will give musical performances followed by jazz band Blue Reed.
The Freshwater Festival will be held at Richmond Park, Freshwater on May 9 from 5.30pm-9pm.
