Div 1 lotto winner still at large on the Gold Coast

A Gold Coast newsagency is waiting to pop the champagne for a division one lottery winner on the Gold Coast. Have you got the winning ticket?

A Gold Coast newsagency is still waiting to pop the champagne for another division 1 lottery winner on the Gold Coast, the only problem is, they still haven’t come forward after five months.

It could be a very lucky start to 2019 for someone who bought a ticket at Golden Lucky News in Westfield Helensvale last August.

The newsagency sold the winning ticket for a draw on August 11 (Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3867) but so far no one has come forward to claim the $671,513 prize.

Golden Lucky News store manager Giorgina Orr said it was the first big prize sold by the newsagency and it is very rare for such a big prize to go unclaimed for such a long time.

“I think maybe they’ve lost it or maybe they went on holidays and completely forgot, I’d hate to think it was something more serious because we have a lot of older customers,” she said.

“I hope one day they’ll come in, we still have a lot of customers asking about it, offering to take the money!”

It is one of 12 prizes still up for grabs around the country (excluding Western Australia).

There is still plenty of time for the winner to come forward with winners in Queensland given seven years to collect their prize.

The Gold Coast has lived up to its name with plenty of gold delivered to local suburbs in 2018 through lottery draws.

In the last year 16 division one winning entries were sold on the Gold Coast, worth more than $71 million.

Southport was the luckiest suburb with three newsagencies selling winners, while Nextra Burleigh Heads at Stockland Shopping Centre takes the claim for the biggest prize after a local man walked away with a massive $60 million in a Powerball draw in November.
