Woman stabbed at Surfers Paradise near Wyndham Hotel; police on the hunt

Police are on the lookout for a black haired- blue eyed woman who allegedly stabbed another woman in the neck and head near a popular hotel in Surfers Paradise. Police are seeking any information on the perpetrator.

POLICE have pleaded with the public to come forward with any information in regards to a woman who was stabbed in the neck in Surfers Paradise yesterday.

Police are searching for a black-haired blue-eyed caucasian woman with a slim build and approximately 160cm in height and wearing heavy makeup.

Around 2.30pm police responded to reports of a stabbing near the Wyndham Hotel on Surfers Paradise Boulevard yesterday.

On arrival, a 35-year-old woman was located with non life threatening injuries.

Police are now searching for a young woman believed to have assaulted the 35-year-old.

There’s still no confirmation as to where the incident originally occurred, with the woman receiving multiple stab wounds to her head and neck in the attack.

The victim then made her way onto Markwell Street and stopped in front of the Wyndham Hotel, where witnesses called police.

The alleged offender then fled towards an adjacent block of apartments, stopping there for a matter of seconds before leaving.

Witnesses reported seeing a person pinned to the ground by bystanders on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Elkhorn Ave around 2.40pm before police rushed to the scene.

It is not known if the person was connected to the incident.

The 35-year-old woman has been transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.
