THE father of Warriena Wright, who died after she plunged from the 14th floor of Gable Tostee’s Surfers Paradise apartment, has broken his silence.
Warren Wright and his family have not spoken publicly since his daughter’s death in 2014 after a Tinder date with the Gold Coast playboy until now.

JURY REACHES GABLE TOSTEE VERDICT
The 58-year-old semi-retired electrician is a little wary of people and told Fairfax he tried to instil this way of thinking in his daughters.
“I never trust a human being,” Mr Wright said.
“I taught both my daughters that.
“And then Warriena went and trusted him (Tostee).”
Mr Tostee was found not guilty of the murder and manslaughter of Warriena after a two-week trial in Brisbane Supreme Court in October.
After the verdict, police referred the case back to coroner Terry Ryan who has reopened the investigation.
Mr Wright was asked where Warriena got her love of animals.
His blue eyes sparkled when he said he told Fairfax journalist Melissa Fyfe: “Well, that would be me.
“I have cats as guard dogs.”
A friend of Warriena’s also spoke to the publication but wanted to remain anonymous.
When Warriena died her family and friends maintained a dignified, near-total silence.
In the ensuing media storm, their “Rrie” became the “death plunge woman”, a two-dimensional character in the perfect tabloid drama.
“She was all about dignity, equality, fairness, what’s right,” the friend said.
She was a technology-literate nerd who took photographs and drew and she liked Hello Kitty, eBay bargains, last-minute road trips and conspiracy theories.
“She had this motherly, want-to-help-you thing,” the friend told Fairfax.
“Even if she didn’t know someone very well. And she looked after her sister and her mum so much.”
