THE man police describe as a wannabe “Nike” biker arrested in the latest round of Taskforce Maxima raids is a Chevron Island hairdresser who lives the high life complete with luxury cars and Vegas jaunts.
Jon Pierre Kairouz’s Instagram account shows a lavish lifestyle full of motorcycles, diamonds, jetskis, Lamborghinis and travel.
The 33-year-old, who runs Jon Pierre Hair on Chevron Island, is believed to be a former nightclub DJ, and is alleged to be an associate of the Mongols and Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gangs.
Kairouz ran from media at Southport yesterday, refusing to comment and even ducking in front of a moving tram to get away. Vision of the dawn raid on his Surfers Paradise unit yesterday shows police seizing a substance police allege to be cocaine and cash, much of it hidden in the dozens of pairs of brand new Nike shoes lining a bedroom wall.
It is alleged $36,000 in cash, 28g of cocaine, ice, steroids and drug utensils were located in the raid.
Kairouz was charged with two counts of possess dangerous drugs and one count each of unlawful possession of restricted drugs, possess property and possess restricted weapons.
He was bailed to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on February 23.
Taskforce Maxima boss Detective Inspector Phil Stevens said the arrest was a win for the community. “This man is an alleged associate of outlaw motorcycle gangs, his arrest is a win for the community,” he said.
“There was an unusually large amount of brand new Nike shoes found in the unit and officers (allegedly) found drugs and cash stashed inside.”
Insp Stevens said bikies and associates were active on the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
“I wouldn’t say there is a power play, but there is certainly a lot of activity in the Brisbane and Gold Coast areas,” he said.
“We will continue to target this activity, while working on intel we receive from a number of different sources.”
Police would not comment on Kairouz’s lavish lifestyle, but confirmed he was a hairdresser.
