Two men wanted for allegedly setting fire to three vehicles at a Gold Coast car yard

Police are searching for two men who are wanted after allegedly setting fire to three vehicles after breaking into a Molendinar car yard early on Saturday morning.

POLICE are searching for two men who are wanted after allegedly setting fire to three vehicles and breaking into a Molendinar car yard early on Saturday morning.

About 1am, two men were caught on CCTV footage breaking into the car yard on Industrial Avenue, which used by a tow truck company to secure damaged vehicles retrieved from traffic accidents.

It is understood the two men forced their way into several vehicles before one of the men operated a one of them, a 2010 Ford Transit.

The van, used as an ice-cream truck, was set alight and quickly spread to a neighbouring 2008 Jeep Cherokee and 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Both men then fled on foot.

Firefighters were called to the scene and extinguished the blaze, but all three vehicles were destroyed.

The men are described as caucasian and are believed to be aged in their 20s.
