A TWEED Heads man disqualified from driving until 2054, has been charged by police over a number of new pursuits on the coast.
The 27-year-old man was found hiding inside a closet during a police raid over the matters early this morning.
The Dog Squad and police from the Tweed and Byron Police District Target Action Group, attended a home on Railway Street at South Murwillumbah about 3.30am to recover the man.
He was arrested and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with two outstanding arrests warrants and two counts of police pursuit one of which took place in September.
The man already disqualified from driving until 2054, was also charged with two counts of drive while disqualified and two counts of common assault.
The local man was bail refused to appear at Tweed Heads Bail Court today.
