Gold Coast teen fleeced: two face armed robbery with knife charges

Two people have been charged and will front court today after allegedly robbing a teenager with a knife while he walked home from work.

TWO people have been charged after an alleged robbery at knifepoint in the city’s south.

A teenager was allegedly robbed at knifepoint at Coolangatta on Monday.

It is alleged at 9.40pm, a 17-year-old Tweed Heads boy was walking home along Marine Parade after work, when a car stopped beside him.

It is alleged a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old teenager exited a car before making threats to the boy while brandishing a knife.

It is alleged they demanded the boy’s property, with the teen handing over an iPhone XR, Airpod earphones, jewellery, cash and clothing.

The pair then allegedly left by getting back into the car and driving away.

The teenager wasn’t hurt.

Police have charged a 19-year-old and the 17-year old with armed robbery.

The 19-year-old will be appearing in Southport Magistrates Court today.
