A GOLD Coast man caught drinking a stubbie without a driver’s licence while cruising down the M1 at Pimpama will not be allowed behind a wheel until August 2020.
Lance Christian Larsen pleaded guilty in Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to one count each of driving without a licence and driving with an open container of alcohol.
The court heard Larsen was stopped on March 20 on the M1 with six empty stubbies in the front of his car.
A breath test revealed he was under 0.05 per cent blood alcohol.
Larsen lost his licence for a year in August last year for drink driving.
Defence lawyer Michael McMillan, of McMillan Criminal Law, said despite the number of empty bottles, Larsen was only on his second drink.
Larsen was fined $1500 and banned from holding a licence for two years.
The additional disqualification means he will not be able to get a driver’s licence until August 2020.
