Stabbing on Gold Coast: Man allegedly stabbed in Mudgeeraba shopping centre

A man is in a serious condition after he was allegedly stabbed by a stranger at a Gold Coast shopping centre.

A MAN is in a serious condition after he was stabbed by a stranger on the Gold Coast.

At 3.25pm, paramedics and police were called to Swan Lane in Mudgeeraba after reports of an altercation.

Reports say a man was at the back of a shopping centre, where the man was approached by a stranger and allegedly stabbed.

A man in his 30s was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with a chest wound.

The High Acuity Response Unit were on board at the time.

Two crime scenes have been established with a vehicle believed to have been involved found at Franklin Drive.

An man and woman are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police would like to speak to a third man seen leaving the area shortly after the incident.

Police are continuing to investigate.
