SOUTHPORT is a hot spot for reported unlawful entry on the Gold Coast, alongside Surfers Paradise and Coomera, according to current police data.
The Queensland Police Service Crime Map displayed Southport having approximately 228 break-ins in the past 12 months.

Coomera and Surfers Paradise are also hot spots for break-ins, with approximately 182 and 179 in the past 12 months respectively.
Unlawful entry in Southport centred around North St with a lesser concentration around Queen St.
Primary Surfers Paradise streets included Peninsular Drive and Sunset Boulevard, with further break-ins occurring near Cavill Ave.
Current crime map data displays 3,938 break-ins having occurred during the past 12 months. Only 792 of these cases have been solved.
The total number of break-ins from 2016-2017 was 4,137, according to police data. This is up from 3,590 during the previous yearly period.
The number of break-ins per year has been rising since the 2014-2015 period.
