Second man faces court over fatal food fight which allegedly killed Ivan Susin

A second man accused of being involved in a fight which allegedly left Brazilian national Ivan Susin dead was due to face court this morning.

A 28-YEAR-OLD Burleigh Waters man accused of being involved in a fight which left one man dead did not appear in court this morning.

Shaun Simpson was scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and stealing.

It is alleged he was involved in a Surfers Paradise fight which knocked Brazilian national Ivan Susin unconscious, leaving him in a coma for 12 days.

Mr Susin died in the Gold Coast University Hospital on Saturday.

It is alleged the fight started over a stolen chip.

Simpson’s lawyer appeared in court this morning to ask for an adjournment of the matter.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair adjourned the matter to November 5.
