A FORMER reality TV contestant spoke about the hours before he was shot and pistol whipped during a daylight attack during evidence in the Supreme Court at Southport.
A bullet travelled through Sam Wallace's right thigh and into his left thigh when Anthony Yoon Sun Soong allegedly shot him at Mike’s Kitchen, Merrimac, on December 6, 2015.
It is alleged the shooting is a case of mistaken identity in a love triangle.
Soong, 25, yesterday pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and, in the alternative, committing a malicious act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
As he is charged in the alternative it means the jury of seven women and five men cannot find him guilty of both charges.

The court heard Soong was allegedly targeting Mr Wallace’s best friend Joshua Milani, who had spent a night with Soong’s former girlfriend, Jhai Saric.
Mr Wallace, who appeared on Big Brother in 2012, told the court Mr Milani was receiving threatening calls and messages from Soong.
The pair listened to multiple calls from Soong, who said he had a gun, on speaker phone.
“(Soong said), ‘I'm going to (expletive) kill you, you are a piece of (expletive) you think you are better than me’. A lot of things along those lines, yeah,” Mr Wallace told the court.
Mr Wallace said he also saw a Snapchat photo Soong had sent Mr Milani of Ms Saric.
“It was with the gun to Jhai’s head and it was a silver gun towards her head,” Mr Wallace said.
He said he tried to talk Mr Milani out of meeting up with Soong at Mike’s Kitchen, but was unable to and the pair went together.
Mr Milani yesterday told the court Soong had sent him texts over Facebook Messenger.
“You are weak dog I’m going to kill you (expletive),” one of the messages said.
Another message said: “I know your little brother, he knows me and knows what I’m about ask him you (expletive) dog why I’m like I'm going to get you (expletive), I promise you that.
Mr Milani said he and Mr Wallace arrived at Mike’s Kitchen just minutes before Soong and Ms Saric.
He said he saw a man in a hoodie get out of Ms Saric’s car and point a gun towards the pair.
Mr Milani told Mr Wallace to drive away and as they did the man shot.
The court heard the car stopped and Mr Wallace was shot in the legs.
Soong then allegedly came to the driver’s side window and pistol whipped Mr Wallace in the head three times.
“After he pistol whipped Sam and he said, ‘take this as a warning’ and ran off,” Mr Milani told the court.
Mr Milani said after the shooting he drove Mr Wallace to hospital and spoke to police.
Crown prosecutor Phil McCarthy said the shooting was a case of a love triangle gone wrong and mistaken identity.
“He was shooting at the driver of a Jeep sitting in a restaurant car park,” Mr McCarthy said.
“He shot repeatedly, advancing on the driver in an attempt to kill him and believed it was Joshua Milani. It was not.

“The unfortunate driver of the Jeep was Samuel Wallace, Mr Milani’s close friend.”
Mr McCarthy said Soong shoot four rounds into the Jeep Mr Wallace was driving.
Mr McCarthy said Soong had forced Ms Saric to drive him to Mike’s Kitchen and when they arrived she “ran for her life”.
The trial will centre around whether Soong intended to kill the driver of the Jeep when he allegedly pulled the trigger four times.
Defence barrister Anthony Kimmins said: “It’s really a case involving what (Soong’s) intent that particular afternoon.
“You must be satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that he intended to harm that man or that he intended to cause grievous bodily harm.”
Soong has pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, common assault and burglary.
The trial continues.
