A Robina man has faced court after accused of filming up the skirts of teenage girls at Taronga Zoo and flight attendants on a flight from the Gold Coast to Sydney.

A man allegedly filmed up the skirts of teenage girls at Taronga Zoo and flight attendants on a flight from the Gold Coast.

Robina man Justin McGufficke, 48, was arrested at the zoo on Tuesday afternoon after he was allegedly seen using a mobile phone to ‘upskirt’ the girls, aged 15 and 17.

Police allege Mr McGufficke, a full-time student, filmed the flight attendants while they were assisting other passengers on a flight from the Gold Coast to Sydney on Tuesday.

In a media statement police alleged that he then filmed the teenagers as he followed them through exhibits at the Mosman zoo.

“A fellow visitor became suspicious of the man and notified security, who contacted police,” police alleged in the media statement.

The statement added that a mobile phone and digital camera were seized for examination, with numerous videos and images located of ‘up-skirting’ offences of several females.

Mr McGufficke was charged with three counts of film persons (under 16) private parts to obtain sexual arousal (aggravated).

He was also charged with seven counts of film person’s private parts without consent.

Mr McGufficke was also charged with one count of possess child abuse material.

He was granted bail following a hearing at Manly Local Court today.

It was alleged the material was contained on a Google smartphone.

Police prosecutor John Sharpin opposed Mr McGufficke’s bail application.

Sgt Sharpin told the court that bail should be refused because the accused was a danger to the community and to the alleged victims and witnesses.

Magistrate Miranda Moody granted Mr McGufficke conditional bail and to return to his home in Robina.

He must report daily to Tweed Heads police station, surrender his passport and not be in possession of a mobile phone or a camera device.
