AN ALLEGED Hells Angels associate charged with drug and weapons offences after a police raid at Hope Island yesterday has been granted bail.

Shane Lemar appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning charged with nine offences including drug possession and possession of explosives.

Police will allege the 43-year-old was asleep on his bed at the time of the raid next to a gun, which was under the blanket.

A bolt-action rifle with a silencer, nunchucks, speed and cannabis were among the unlawful items allegedly found in the home.

His application for bail was not opposed and he was released on the condition that he live at a Hope Island address and report to police three days a week.

Solicitor Jodi Allen said her client had two children and three stepchildren and that his partner was relieved he was coming home.

Lemar will next appear in court on April 22.
