POLICE have released terrifying footage of an armed robbery at a Southport service station where a man jumped over the counter, waving a metal bar.

POLICE have released terrifying footage of an armed robbery at a Southport service station.
The break-in occurred around 9pm on October 30 at the United Southport petrol station on Ferry Road where he jumped over the counter and made demands for cash while armed with a metal bar.
He obtained an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the scene.
While leaving the station, the man approached a woman who was inside her car which was parked on Zircon Street.
The man attempted to open the driver’s side door however the woman managed to drive away before he could enter the vehicle.
She returned a short time later returned and spoke with police at the scene.
