Police officer hospitalised after young man attempted to assault multiple officers
A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting police officers while they were directing traffic at Surfers Paradise last night.

A MAN has been arrested after allegedly assaulting police officers at Surfers Paradise last night.
It’s alleged the 23-year-old approached police officers and tried to fight them while they were controlling traffic on Ferny Avenue and Surfers Paradise Boulevard about 9.40pm.
Police asked the man to calm down before he allegedly became more aggressive and tried to assault the officers.

One of the police officer used a taser, but it didn’t work effectively.
It is alleged the man scratched a police officer’s face and arms while they tried to arrest him.
The officer was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital to have their injuries examined.
The man has been charged with serious assault and dangerous drug possession.
He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court later today.
