Police hold grave concerns for boy who ran away after being hit by car at Miami

Police are calling for help from the public to track down the child who appears to be 12-years-old to make sure he is OK.

Police said they have grave concerns for the child after he ran onto Dawn Parade at the Gold Coast Highway intersection when he was hit by a vehicle about 2pm.

After being hit by the vehicle the driver tried to stop the boy from running away but was unsuccessful.

The boy is described as being approximately 12-years-old, short, with a slim build. He was wearing tracksuit pants, a bum bag, and a dark blue hat.

Police are currently conducting patrols but have been unable to locate the boy.

Gold Coast Police said they would like to assure the boy that he will not be in trouble and are urging him to go to Hospital if he’s hurt.

Later in the day police and paramedics were called to a Carrara construction site where a man’s foot had been run over by a truck.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable conditions.
