A MUM and daughter were left terrified after three armed men burst into their Mermaid Waters home in a brazen daylight attempted robbery.

A MUM and daughter were left terrified after three armed men burst into their Mermaid Waters home in a brazen daylight attempted robbery.
The pair were there only two awake in the Hood St when the three men burst in and brandished guns just after 830am.
Karyn Middleton said the trio made her and her teenage daughter sit in the corner while they ransacked the home.
A police spokesman said the men demanded money from the pair but ran away empty-handed.

It is understood the trio left when they discovered there was nothing valuable in the home.
There were other people asleep in the home at the time.
Police scenes of crime investigators spent the day at the home investigating.
The police spokesman said a description of the men was not available.
Detectives are investigating.
