A ROBINA mother has described how she identified her son’s alleged shooter when he walked into her workplace months after the attack.

Snezana Marjanovic yesterday gave evidence in the trial of Robert Kingsley Corowa, who is charged with attempted murder over an evening shootout in Robina on November 26, 2011.

The Supreme Court in Brisbane has heard Corowa, 32, was allegedly jealous about his former girlfriend taking up with another man — Marko Marjanovic.

It is alleged he went to the Marjanovic family home in Robina about 10pm and had a friend lure Mr Marjanovic into the street before firing three rounds from his sawn-off shotgun.

Mr Marjanovic was wounded in the shoulder before running back inside the house.

His mother told the jury she caught glimpses of the shooter on the night as he ducked in and out of parked cars.

“He was doing like hide and seek. Marko was his target. I screamed ‘Marko get inside the house’,” she said.

Mrs Marjanovic said she gave police a description of the man who came to her door on the night, but days later realised the shooter was a different person.

She even tried to get her son to find pictures of this former boyfriend who had been threatening him, but they didn’t get any.

Then, while at work at a Caltex service station at Mermaid Beach in February the next year, she saw a shirtless man with “fancy” sneakers and a “death before dishonour” tattoo on his chest come in and get some drinks.

“My heart went ‘Wow, I have seen this person before and he shouldn’t be here’,” she said.

“He looked like the person who chased my son and shot at him on the street.

“I tried to stay as calm as I could be.”

She said she asked her boss to keep the security camera footage to give to the police.

Defence lawyers suggested Mrs Marjanovic changed her story about the shooter being Corowa after she looked at photos of him on Facebook and found out about his link to her son’s new girlfriend.

She denied ever seeing a picture of Corowa and said she only knew of him as a “nutter”.

The trial continues.
