A MAN was threatened with a sharpened screwdriver in an armed car robbery at Ormeau overnight.

A MAN was threatened with a sharpened screwdriver in an armed car robbery at Ormeau overnight.

A 19-year-old man and 15-year-old boy were sitting under a shelter at a skate park on Cuthbert Drive, when they were approached by two males just before 8pm Wednesday evening.

One of the men asked for a lift, and when the 19-year-old refused the man produced a sharpened screwdriver.

The teen handed over his car keys and the two men entered his vehicle, a white Suburu Impreza, and drove away.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Police have described the men as caucasian and aged between 24 and 30 years.

One is 175cm tall with a slim build, neck tattoos, a full leg sleeve of tattoos on left leg and was wearing a white Adidas polo shirt, white Adidas hat and black shorts.

The second man who produced the screwdriver is described as 170cm tall with a slim build, tattoos on both arms, a shaved head and was wearing a dark brown singlet and white Nike shoes.

The stolen car is a 2008 white Suburu Impreza hatchback with QLD registration 740XUD.

Police have urged the public not to approach the men or vehicle but to call if they see them.
