A 27-year-old man has been taken into custody and is assisting police with their inquiries after a violent armed robbery at an Ormeau tavern.
The man has not been charged.
Last Saturday, a trio of men, with their faces covered, shot their way into the Norfolk Tavern at 3.30am.
Shots were fired into the glass door so they could get into the building.
Inside, police say the trio “terrorised” two staff members and two patrons with a gun and a machete.
The hold up lasted around 10 minutes.
Acting Sergeant Brendan Wiblen said at the time it was a “very violent incident” and a “great deal of fear” for the people involved.
No one was injured in the robbery, with the trio stealing cash trays and a number of other items before leaving in a white Volkswagen Transporter van. Police later found it burnt out at Plunkett Road in Tamborine.
