THREE of the men accused of killing Gold Coast father Greg Dufty have pleaded guilty to his death.
The 37-year-old pool builder went missing in July 6, 2015 after he was picked up in a Mack truck from an Ashmore car park and taken to a remote part of the Gold Coast hinterland.
The father-of-two’s body has never been found.
During their sentencing, the Brisbane Supreme Court heard the 37-year-old was bashed into unconsciousness with a shifting spanner and tyre iron after he stole cannabis.
When he couldn’t be woken, his body was incinerated at a property near Casino in northern NSW.
Lionel John Patea, a former bandidos bikie, pleaded guilty to the murder.
His brother, Nelson Andrea Patea and Aaron John Crawford pleaded guilty to one count each of manslaughter.
Crawford also pleaded guilty to improperly interfering with a body.
Liam Rawhiti Bliss and Clinton Lee Earl Stockman also pleaded guilty to his manslaughter in February.
The Patea brothers laughed with each other in the dock prior to the sentencing.
Lionel Patea smiled as he stood to enter his guilty plea for the murder.
“Guilty,” he said in a bored tone.
When asked if there any reason why sentence should not be passed on him, he replied: “Nah.”
Mr Dufty’s former partner Sharni Mill cried as the sentence was handed down.
Two men Liam Rawhiti Bliss and Clinton Stockman were sentenced in February this year for the manslaughter.
The sentencing will be heard tomorrow morning to allow a relative of Mr Dufty to travel to Brisbane from Goondiwindi.
