A LIMO driver has had to cut down on the hours she works after getting trapped by a shopping trolley on a travelator at Gold Coast shopping centre, it is alleged.
Judith Singline, 65, is claiming more than $250,000 from Elanora’s Pines Shopping Centre, Woolworths and Schindler Lifts over the December 2015 incident which allegedly left her with injured knees, hips, thumbs, spine, vocal cords and extensive bruising according to documents find in the Southport District Court.
It is also alleged the injuries left her not only having difficulties at work but also problems with “heavy” indoor and outdoor chores and gardening.
Ms Singline, who runs Coolangatta Limousines, told the Bulletin she is still feeling the effects of the fall.

“I won’t go anywhere near a travelator now,” she said.
“I walk up the stairs instead.”
Ms Singline said she had a knee operation last year and was still feeling some pain.
She said she also turned down some work for her business, something which was outlined in the court documents.
“(Ms Singline) has been adversely affected by the injuries such that she is no longer able to sit for long periods in the car to drive long distances or to handle heavy luggage on behalf of clients,” the documents said.
“Because of that, (Ms Singline) has had to reject work on occasion and also make it known that she is unable and unwilling to take on work which she otherwise would have done.”
She also claims the injuries “will continue to have a deleterious effect on her social, domestic, recreational and working activities”.

The documents detail a bizarre incident which is alleged to have started when a Woolworths shopping trolley pushed by another shopper got stuck at the top of the travelator going to the car park.
“ … the travelator itself continued to operate causing (Ms Singline) to be carried onto the shopping trolley, pinning her against the wall of the travelator causing her to fall to her knees …,” the documents claim.
Ms Singline is suing the three companies because she claims they failed to properly maintain the shopping trolley and the travelator to ensure they were safe for people to use.
The Pines Shopping Centre declined to comment as the matter is before the courts.
Woolworths were unable to provide a comment by the time the Bulletin went to print.
No one from Schindler Lifts was available to comment.
The Pines, Woolworths and Schindler Lifts are yet to file a defence.
