AN 18-year-old man has been charged with the alleged murder of Jesse Vilkelis-Curas after a violent brawl near a Ballina pub just before Christmas.
NSW police this morning used a battering ram to enter a Tweed Heads West house and arrest the man who was charged with murder, assault occasioning death and affray.
Police alleged the man was involved in a brawl in East Ballina just before 8pm on December 22.
Mr Vilkelis-Curas suffered serious head injuries and was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital where the 24-year-old man died on December 27.
Following his arrest, the 18-year-old was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged
He was refused bail to face Tweed Heads Local Court today.
Yesterday, a 22-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, affray and assault in relation to the brawl.
He will appear at Ballina Local Court on February 12 2020.
Investigations are continuing, with police expecting further arrests.
