A GOLD Coast bikie president has been charged following the alleged serious assault of a man at a Palm Beach hotel.
The man charged is understood to be the 45-year-old President of the Gold Coast Chapter of the Hells Angels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang, Gregory Pearce.
On January 19, police were called to a scuffle between a hotel guest and three men around 12pm at a Palm Beach hotel.
Police will allege the 42-year-old Burleigh Heads victim was knocked to the ground before being repeatedly punched and kicked until he lost consciousness.
It is believed Pearce and the victim were known to each other.
Pearce was today arrested by Taskforce Maxima officers and charged with affray.
He was taken to the Southport Watchhouse, where bail has been refused.
He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Detective Inspector Glen Donaldson of the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad said the attack was a “cowardly assault which occurred in a public place on a victim who lay defenceless on the ground.
“This level of violence has no place in our community and strengthens the unwavering commitment of Taskforce Maxima to continue our pursuit of members of outlaw motorcycle gangs involved in criminal activities.
“The QPS will continue to use every legal mechanism available to dismantle and disrupt organised crime gangs operating in this State.”
Investigations are continuing into the incident.
