THE woman who sent a Coomera school into lockdown after twice threatening to “shoot it up” will be released from jail two weeks before Christmas.

Stacey Jaundrell, 36, pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning to two counts of using a carriage service to menace and harass and one count each of fraud and wilfully disturbing an educational facility.

Magistrate Donald MacKenzie sentenced Jaundrell to 20 months prison, with a parole release date of December 13.

“The social media message to the school indicated that someone was coming to kill people with a firearm, it was very serious,” he said.

The court heard Jaundrell created a fake Facebook profile in the name of an Upper Coomera State School student and then used that profile to threaten the school on June 10 and 11.

“I am shooting up the (expletive) school tomorrow,” one of the messages read.

The message sent the school into lockdown twice.

Jaundrell then, after bail conditions were imposed she not use social media, took her son’s phone on June 18 and used a different Facebook account to make more threats towards the school.

Mr MacKenzie said he had taken into consideration the psychiatric report provided to the court.

The report detailed Jaundrell suffers from post traumatic stress disorder, disassociative identity disorder and borderline personality disorder.

Mr MacKenzie said he believed Jaundrell was in sound mind as she took steps to try and ensure the threatening messages were not traced back to her.

Defence lawyer Victoria Ward, of Brooke Winter Solicitors, said Jaundrell was “regretful and remorseful”.

Ms Ward said Jaundrell was sexually abused and abandoned as a child.

She said Jaundrell was trying to protect her daughter and felt the school was not doing enough.
