A Gold Coast school community has been left reeling after being targeted by vandals who sprayed racist and homophobic slurs on its buildings over the weekend, including the swastika and references to Satanism.

A GOLD Coast school community has been left reeling after being targeted by vandals using homophobic and racial slurs.
Buildings at Labrador State School were tagged with graffiti in a spree of vandalism over the weekend.

Many of the buildings on the school’s campus were damaged, with some of the most offensive language used to damage a mural painted by students to promote inclusiveness and diversity in the community.
The Nazi swastika symbol was used as well as the phrase “worship Satan”, which was placed next to the Star of David, the symbol of the Jewish people.
The name of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler was also sprayed on a diversity mural.
The damage has left locals shocked, including Bonney MP Sam O’Connor.
The young MP yesterday worked to clean off some of the damage and said he was “disgusted” by it.
“There’s swastikas, c-words, n-words, f-words, the Star of David, satanic worship, derogatory names for our suburb and so many dicks,” he said.

“They even climbed up on the roofs to do some.
“There is a clear racial and homophobic pattern. They’ve even put it specifically over the diversity and inclusion mural.
“It’s made me really angry. Labrador is a fantastic school. We are proud to be a diverse community. This sort of behaviour is not on.”
Cleaners were brought in to clean off the graffiti before students arrived this morning.
