Gold Coast police charge man after injured woman dumped on Hinterland road
A man accused of dumping an unconscious woman on a Gold Coast Hinterland road, stunning nearby locals, has faced court.

THE man accused of dumping an unconscious woman on a Gold Coast Hinterland road did not appeared when the matter was mentioned the Southport Magistrates Court.
Shane Anthony Horne, 34, was charged with failure to provide the necessities of life and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
It is alleged Horne was spotted by residents dumping the severely injured woman just off the road along Gartside Ave and Plantation Crescent in Maudsland just after 4pm on Tuesday.
He was arrested by the dog squad on Reserve Road in Upper Coomera around 6.30pm.
No bail application was made in court.
The matter was adjourned to August 6.
Acting Detective Inspector Mark Procter said it was alleged the pair had arrived together.
“Witnesses have said a motorcycle has arrived at this location and dumped a female body there,” he said.
Witnesses called for emergency services.

Critical care and High Acuity Response Unit paramedics attended the scene and she was transported to Gold Coast University in a critical condition.
It is understood the woman’s condition has improved.
