A MAN accused of threatening to punch a magistrate has indicated he wants to plead guilty to the charge.
Chase Danny Peter Brooks appeared briefly in Southport Magistrates Court this morning on a single charge of contempt.
Brooks’ lawyer Ashkan Tai, of Ashkan Tai Lawyers, asked for the matter to be adjourned to February 8 when Brooks for a plea of guilty.

It is alleged Brooks was heard threatening to punch a magistrate in the head while at Coolangatta Magistrates Court last year.
Brooks is currently in custody on unrelated matters.
