Gold Coast domestic violence: dad makes 208 harassing calls in one day in desperation to see his two-year-old son
A GOLD Coast man has pleaded guilty to harassing his former partner by calling her more than 200 times in a day during a messy dispute. But the court heard claims she “baited him” into contacting her.

A GOLD Coast dad has pleaded guilty to harassing his former partner after calling her more than 200 times in a day during a messy dispute over being able to see his two-year-old son.
The 28-year-old was given a $500 good behaviour bond and 12 month probation orders in the Southport Magistrates Court today after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to menace or harass and breaching a domestic violence order.

The man also emailed and send text messages to the woman saying “goodbye, I love you” during the period where he was suffering from mental health issues.
The court heard the man could not see his son because a protection order is in place which does not allow him to contact the woman.

Defence lawyer Sunil Dutt said the man had been baited into offending because he felt hopeless about seeing his son.
“One moment she is very nice so they talk and the next she is not. It’s more like he is baited into making offences,” Mr Dutt said.
He also told the court the woman had sent the man threatening emails suggesting she was going to have him “locked up”.
Magistrate Mark Howden gave the man a 12 month $500 good behaviour bond and two 12 month probation orders.
