Magistrate Howden read from an objection to bail affidavit tendered to the court.

“Police are aware that during the course of the following 24 hours (after Tuesday’s shooting) the defendant posted on social media and sent telephone messages on several occasions indicating he was planning violent retribution against Bandidos OMCG members responsible for the shooting of his brother,” he read.

Mr Howden asked police prosecutor Senior Constable Davina Cochrane if police were asking for bail to be refused due to fear of retribution.

Sen Const Cochrane said she had no further information.

Turkyilmaz is charged with one court of affray and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.

Mr Howden said Turyilmaz was in a “very serious situation” but that “had nothing to do with the charges before the court”.

Gokhan was shot eight times in the groin, buttocks and legs in the front yard of his Upper Coomera home.

He remains in hospital.
