A Gold Coast father and his teenage son were robbed of their car by a man armed with a gun in a bizarre hold up in the early hours of this morning.

A FATHER and his teenage son were robbed of their car by a man armed with a gun in the early hours of this morning.
Police are investigating the bizarre armed robbery, which occurred at 1.30am on Stapylton’s Henry Hester Drive.

The 43-year-old man and his 15-year-old son were sitting in his black VE Holden Commodore Clubsport sedan with no registration plates when a dark blue vehicle drove towards them with no headlights on.
They told police three men exited the dark-blue vehicle and approached the Commodore.
One of the men lifted his shirt and displayed what appeared to be a firearm tucked into his belt.
The armed man has demanded the father and son exit the Commodore, before he got into the driver’s seat and drove away.
The two other males returned to the dark-blue vehicle and drove away.
No one was injured during the armed robbery.
Investigations continue.
