Gold Coast crime: Illegal fireworks allegedly discovered in Hinterland home

A cache of more than 600 illegal fireworks has allegedly been discovered by Gold Coast detectives.

A CACHE of more than 600 illegal fireworks has allegedly been discovered by Gold Coast detectives.

Police raided a house on Highland Park’s Trafalgar Street at 11am yesterday where fireworks, weapons and drugs were allegedly discovered.

Among the items police say they recovered were:

* 600 Fireworks

* A laser pointer

* A baton

* Scales and a small amount of cannabis.

A 27-year-old Highland Park man has been charged with two counts of possess restricted item and one count each of possessing category H weapon, possessing explosives, possessing dangerous drug and possessing utensil.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on November 19.
