A GOLD Coast bodybuilder and former Bond University student has been charged with a series of stealing offences over the past two months.
Stefan Vicelic, 26, has been charged with 12 counts of stealing, four counts of robbery and a number of fraud and drug related offences.
The Main Beach resident had his matters mentioned in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning where he was remained in custody to appear again tomorrow.
Police allege Vicelic would contact sellers of Apple electric products online before organising to meet and exchange goods face-to-face.
Upon meeting sellers, Vicelic would allegedly snatch the goods before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
Gold Coast and Indooroopilly Criminal Investigation Branches established Operation Quebec Proton in response to the alleged offences.
Vicelic was arrested yesterday following a two month investigation.
Police have appealed for any other potential victims to come forward.
“We encourage sellers to be vigilant when meeting with potential buyers by looking into previous reviews and feedback,” said Detective Inspector Brendan Smith of the Northern Crime Group said.
“We also encourage any exchanges be conducted a safe public environment.”
