Former cyclist in court over supply of cannabis, methylampethamine and LSD

A FORMING rising cycling star has narrowly escaped a jail term after being caught supplying cannabis, methyl amphetamine and LSD.

He was also found with more than $4000 in a safe which was from drug sales.

Jackson William Wardrop, 27, pleaded guilty in the Southport District Court yesterday to five counts of supplying drugs, two count of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing proceeds of a crime.

Judge David Kent sentenced Wardrop to 18 months prison with immediate release on parole.

Crown prosecutor Gary Churchill told the court police raided Wardrop’s Pacific Pines home on July 11 last year.

During the raid police found a small amount of cannabis, methyl amphetamine and $4785 in cash.

Mr Churchill said police also found a mobile phone which showed Wardrop had supplied between two ounces and $1800 of cannabis, about $220 in methylamphetamine and $40 in LSD.

He said the phone also had a large number of messages deleted.
