CLOSE mates of “Lizard Man” Bronson Ellery are mourning the ex-Bandido associate’s death from behind bars.
Christopher Cairns, who is currently serving time at Wolston Correctional Centre at Wacol for assault, was reportedly “devastated” to hear of Mr Ellery’s death.
The 24-year-old and his former-partner Shelsea Schilling, 20, were found dead in a Johnston St apartment in Southport last Friday afternoon.
Police are still investigating the double-deaths.
Cairns’ lawyer, Moloney MacCallum Lawyers principal Andrew Moloney, said his client was “shocked to hear of the deaths of Bronson and Shelsea”.
“He is devastated by the loss of his close friend,” Mr Moloney said.
“He feels for both their families”.
The 29-year-old was acquitted of the murder of Gold Coast nightclub promoter Tumara “Tumma” Cousins following a Brisbane Supreme Court trial in February 2015.
On Wednesday, a mystery female witness claimed she was in the property the afternoon the pair died.
The witness, who spoke with police in relation to the two deaths, said she had seen Mr Ellery violently attack Ms Schilling in the apartment last Friday.
Sources close to the investigation said Ms Schilling’s body showed signs of head injury and asphyxiation.
Police are still searching for a fourth person believed to have been inside the Southport unit the afternoon “Lizard Man” Bronson Ellery and Shelsea Schilling died.
