A 28-year-old man has turned hero after foiling an alleged armed robbery at a KFC restaurant in Logan overnight.
A knife-wielding man is alleged to have entered the restaurant on Chambers Flat Rd around 7pm and demanded cash from a 15-year-old girl working behind the counter, police allege.
Reports suggest the knife was held to the young worker’s throat.
The younger man, who had watched the incident unfold from the drive-through lane, rushed to the girl’s rescue by retrieving a golf club from the boot of his car and entering the restaurant where he struck the accused would-be robber, reportedly knocking him unconscious.
The accused man, a 40-year-old from Park Ridge, was subdued until police arrived to make the arrest.
