A BOAT found engulfed in flames at Clagiraba last night is believed to be the one stolen from an Ashmore home that burnt down yesterday morning.
The boat and its trailer were found burning at the bottom of Henri Robert Drive, almost half an hour from the owner’s Ashmore house.
Firefighters received the call about 6.45pm with reports of a small boat on fire on the side of a road and had it extinguished by 7.10pm.

A police spokeswoman said preliminary investigations indicate the boat and trailer is linked to the fire which engulfed an Ashmore house at about 8am yesterday.
Outrageous graffiti was found sprayed on the home reading “This is for f---king my wife”.
Police and firefighters have not yet determined the cause of the house fire, but believe it started in the rear of a dual cab ute that was parked beside the home.

The house’s contents were destroyed by the blaze, including the ute parked outside.
Before the fire started, a boat, trailer, and moped was believed to have been stolen from the property.
Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen a vehicle driving in the area, between 7-8am, towing a tinnie on a trailer with QLD registration BV4987.
