But Reading remained in custody with an arrest warrant out in New South Wales for unrelated matters.

Documents tendered to the court said Reading and another person banged on the door of the Gold Coast home about 3am on February 10 last year.

They burst in and began to hit Daniel Cooke around the head.

His flatmate Sophie Rees called police.

During the attack Mr Cooke was hit, kicked and struck with a “heavy object” to the knee and told to “stay down (expletive)”.

Mr Cooke ran from the home.

“After hearing the defendant’s car leave Ms Rees came out of her bedroom and saw blood on the floor and the walls of the hallway,” the documents said.

“She also noticed the large hole in the wall.”

Mr Cooke was taken to Robina Hospital with a broken nose, fractured eye socket, injury to his knee, cut to his forehead and bruise to his shoulder.

Reading was not arrested until days later when he attended the probation and parole office in Burleigh Heads.

Reading’s lawyer Joe Wicking, of Howden Saggers Lawyers, said Reading would face extradition proceedings in Southport Magistrates Court today.
