Gold Coast fitness guru Ashy Bines gets back at online trolls

THE war between those behind Gold Coast diet queens Ashy Bines and Emily Skye Anderson has deepened, with court documents revealing the huge profits at stake.

At the centre is Bines’ husband, personal trainer Steven Evans, who this week applied for Supreme Court orders against his protege and social media fitness guru, Emily Skye Anderson.

Formerly cosy business partners in creating the now massively popular Emily Skye brand, Evans claims he hasn’t been paid his $7000 a week retainer and fears Anderson is set to move to America, taking the $15,000 a day sales empire with her.

Run mostly through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages, the Emily Skye brand includes the Gold Coast fitness model posing in bikinis or gym gear and posting inspirational quotes about how she achieves her figure.

Embedded in most of the posts, often liked by thousands of followers, are links to exercise and weight loss programs for people to buy, but Evans claims Anderson has started redirecting customers to buy from a new personal website instead of their joint companies, cutting him out of the business.

According to his affidavit, Evans approached Emily Skye Anderson in 2012 to be the face of a new range after huge success with wife Ashy Bines’ online bikini body challenge.

Evans claims he and Anderson were part of two companies behind the products and agreed both would be paid at least $7000 a week, with extra profits split according to company share ownership.

Emails last year between them reveal they expected to have a further $300,000 in profits.

Yet since November, when Evans resigned as a company director but kept a controlling interest, he claims he has not been paid and has been blocked from viewing websites and social media accounts.

Lawyers for Anderson said she denied the allegations and in court on Wednesday consented to interim orders on redirecting customers and promoting products until the matter returns to court next month.

Meanwhile the two also have a District Court battle where Anderson claims Evans took company money without authority and damaged the brand with ineffective Facebook advertising.

Evans this week responded, stating he denies the allegations as all purchases were proper expenses and profits from the Facebook advertising, while hard to quantify, appeared to have increased.
