During Edwards’ committal hearing this week, the Southport Magistrates Court was told Mr Wood was found on the ground covered in blood following a brawl.

Today a witness told the court a fracas erupted when a group of men were asked to leave the sports bar at the surf club and refused.

There was a verbal argument before it escalated into a physical confrontation, the court was told.

Moments later the security guard was seen on the ground holding his mouth.

Anther witness, Allan Dick, said he did not see exactly how Mr Wood had been injured.

Mr Dick said he saw Mr Wood had been so seriously injured his teeth had been knocked out on to the ground.

On Thursday, Edwards’ barrister Craig Eberhardt put it to Mr Wood that “you’re putting it on” in reference to tics and difficulty walking that he exhibited in the courtroom.

Sitting in the witness box, where he said he felt anxious, Mr Wood denied feigning serious brain injuries.
