A State Government Minister has called on Gold Coast MP Michael “Rocky Mountains” Hart to resign after being caught holidaying overseas during parliamentary sittings.
The LNP, after a successful week in State Parliament of ambushing the Government about its domestic violence policies, is in damage control after the Burleigh MP missed the entire session.

The Bulletin in an online report this week, detailed how the Parliament was in uproar after Labor frontbenchers taunted their opponents about Mr Hart’s absence.
Parliamentarians are usually reluctant to talk about others on leave, but State Development Minister Cameron Dick complained about not being given “a pair” by the Opposition to attend an important interstate conference.

“The silly part of all of this is the Member for Burleigh hasn’t been here all week. He’s on holidays,” Mr Dick told Parliament.
The Bulletin later revealed political insiders had confirmed Mr Hart was “on a train, in Canada, on the Rocky Mountains”.
Mr Dick had tweeted “the truth comes out in the end” and accused his opponents of being “sneaky and petty”.
Transport Minister Mark Bailey went one better yesterday and delivered a knockout political blow.
Mr Bailey tweeted a mock-up post card which showed Mr Hart wearing a Canadian cap, and included a moose head, with the words above it reading “Dear Deb (Frecklington) wish you were here”.
“What a shambles the Gold Coast LNP is,” Mr Bailey tweeted.

The Transport Minister said the LNP was in disarray on whether light rail should go south to the airport and now in turmoil because Mr Hart was “holidaying in the Rocky Mountains”.
“Arrogant, lazy, betrayed his constituents. He should resign,” Mr Bailey tweeted.
Mr Hart had responded to a request for comment by The Bulletin by texting “no comment mate”.
The focus yesterday turned to LNP leader Deb Frecklington, with Labor accusing her of losing control of her party and just “signing holiday forms”.
In an LNP response, Jarrod Bleijie, the manager of Opposition Business told The Bulletin:
“This was a long standing family commitment that was booked last year before the election and prior to Labor setting the parliamentary sitting dates for this year.”
